Ephesians 5:14-21
(Ephesians
5:14-21)
Wherefore
he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall
give thee light. See then that ye walk
circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming
the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore
be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. And be
not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; Speaking
to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making
melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks always for all
things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; Submitting
yourselves one to another in the fear of God.
The Apostle Paul spoke of the children of light. 『Awake
thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light』The sleeping one wakes up, and he says to rise from the dead. The
sleeping are among the dead. The dead are those who have left God. The spirit
is dead. Those who sleep are not dead. Those who sleep are those who realize
that they have left God. So, the spirits have risen again.
In Matthew
8:21-22『 And another of his disciples said unto him, Lord, suffer me first to go
and bury my father. But
Jesus said unto him, Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead. 』 Sleeping and dead seem the same, but the dead
are dead, and the sleeping are the awakening of the spirit. The sleeping ones
arise when Jesus Christ shines light. However, the dead cannot rise. Those who
sleep are those who repent, and those who are dead are those who do not repent.
In John 1:4-5, 『In him was life; and the life
was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness
comprehended it not. "The person in the dark is the person who does not
repent. In Chapter 1:11, 『He came unto his own, and his
own received him not. 』
『 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but
as wise, Redeeming
the time, because the days are evil. 』((Ephesians 5:15-16) Here, "Save time, and the time is
evil."Time means being in the material world. In other words, the material
world is evil. Because there is no God in the material world. It is to realize
that human beings in the material world are those who have left God. So, repent
and return to God. By the way, I put my heart in this world and my heart
becomes dull, so I don't understand God's kingdom and I become a dead person. 『but as wise』 Wisdom is through the
Scriptures to realize that humans are beings who have left God. So the one who
realizes gains the wisdom of God. When Saint preaches the word of God,
believers gain wisdom.
In 1 Corinthians
1:23-24『But we preach Christ crucified,
unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; But
unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and
the wisdom of God. 』
Those who are
wise know that salvation is associated with Jesus Christ. In Matthew 7:24 『Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I
will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:』 Those who act are those who are united with Jesus. 『Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the
Lord is. (Ephesians 5:17) Those who do not act are mingled.
『And
be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; Those
who are drunken are those who speak utterly. So, in many churches today, those
who say that the Holy Spirit and the law must be kept are drunken. They say
through the law whether they have sinned or not, and when it is found that they
have sinned, they repent, forgiven their sins with the blood of Jesus, so they live
a life filled with the Holy Spirit. But those who are in Christ are free from
the law. The old man died because he was killed by the law, and he became a man
by the power of the Holy Spirit. Those who follow the law do not have the Holy
Spirit. Only those in Christ are filled with the Holy Spirit.
『 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual
songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks
always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus
Christ; 』 Only those who are in
Jesus Christ, the spirit raised, can praise. Those who are dead are the
children of Satan. Those who rely on the name of Jesus Christ are the ones
whose spirit has been raised. In order for the spirit to survive, the flesh is
the ones who died on the cross with Jesus. They are dead by the law.
