Ephesians 5:1-7
(Ephesians
5:1-7)
Be ye
therefore followers of God, as dear children; And
walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an
offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. But fornication, and all uncleanness, or
covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; Neither
filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but
rather giving of thanks. For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean
person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the
kingdom of Christ and of God.Let no man deceive you with vain words: for
because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of
disobedience. Be not ye therefore partakers with them.
The Apostle Paul speaks of loved ones in Romans 5:8-10.『 But God commendeth his love toward
us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much
more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath
through him. For if, when we were enemies,
we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled,
we shall be saved by his life. 』,
The meaning of “Imitate
God” is to be crucified with Jesus in Christ just as
God sent Jesus Christ. Jesus told him to put his cross on his shoulder. It is
to convey the love received from God to others. So, saving the dead spirit is
to convey love.
In John 13:34-35『 A new commandment I give unto
you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one
another. By this shall all
men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. 』 We cannot die
directly on the cross like Jesus did. The purpose of Jesus' death on the cross
is to save the Spirit. So, conveying the meaning of Jesus' death to others is
to convey the love of Jesus. Thus, the spirit-dead man is brought into Christ.
Fornication,
all kinds of filthiness, and greed are the images of those who have left God.
Those who have left God are those who act according to their own thoughts
because they are masters. So, they become evil against God. In the Bible, fornication
means leaving God and serving another god. Or include thinking that they
themselves can be like God.
In Romans
1:25-31, it is said that the creature becomes more worshiper than God, and
eventually he does all sorts of dirty deeds.『 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped
and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile
affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is
against nature: And likewise also
the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward
another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in
themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave
them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness,
fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder,
debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God,
despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without
understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable,
unmerciful: 』
Lying is a
delusion. Satan is deceiving. Satan deceives things that are not truth. The
object that Satan deceived is Eve. Eve is a woman's representative who has left
all God. Satan deceived Eve that she could become like God by eating the fruit
of a tree that knows good and evil. In order not to be deceived by Satan, we
must stand in the Word of Truth.
